No off-the-shelf solution for synchronizing data to & from Kafka? Do it yourself with Kafka Connect!

The core of every Kafka installation is to provide a way to exchange data between applications. But what if your software suite doesn’t have native Kafka support, or a connector for Apache Kafka Connect? What you can do is create your own connector, and maybe share it with the world. This workshop will walk you through the different steps of designing, implementing and packaging/releasing your own connector. At the end of the session, we’ll have designed and implemented a basic Source connector that will load GitLab issues to Kafka.
